It had started out as Nami wanting to gather her own evidence, to be able to prove without a doubt what he had done to her. Nick is the perfect distraction that helps Nami out of shell. Nami lost trust in the media, the police, and her friends. Nick proved to Nami that some people can be trusted and are not afraid to stand up to men like the senator.
Nami is an outcast in her own town because the town people cannot fathom a man like the senator who is a devoted minister could possibly rape a person. Nami is a one woman army trying to finds cracks in the senators Good Samaritan lifestyle. The town idolizes the senator and is blinded by his image.

This book has been one of my favorite books of 2016. It differs from romance books that I usually read. I usually go for more light hearted books, but since I had the opportunity for an ARC I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did!
First of all I LOVE Nami. The journey that she goes through as she heals is insane. I loved that you get to read her every thought and how she processes the world around her since she was attacked. I get very emotionally drawn into a story and I felt all of her ups and downs. I think that she is one of the strongest female characters that I've ever read.
I also really like Law. I like how he courts/pursues Nami through the whole book. He doesn't give up on her even though there are times it was tempting. It was interesting/stressful (in a good way!) to see how he was involved in the background.
And Raskol! There are no words for Raskol...
I would highly recommend this book to everyone. It is great & the journey is long but there is a great HEA.

another great book from MCG. She does such a good job creating characters and keeping the reader engaged with a great storyline. This was a page turner!
This was a story that I just couldn't put down. It's intriguing. I really liked how Nami worked through everything and it all came together in the end.
This book just blew my mind, it was so much more. It is so much then just another romance book.
This is a beautiful tale of one woman's quest for vengeance & acceptance. It totally consumed me & I loved it.
Very enjoyable book, especially for fans of MCG's previous series. If you liked the conversational and casual snark of Lennox in "You Own Me," you'll definitely love Nami. She's a lot more sensitive but still has that strength and determination that I love in MCG's female main characters.
I'm not sure how to say how I feel about this book. It's kind of one of those you have to read it yourself. I can say it is a good read of course it made me feel good and bad emotions which a good author wants right to pull us into the story and make us feel what their characters feel. Sorry not to spoil anything I did deduct a star due to certain part in the book.
